Frequently asked questions
The ones you would ask before handing over your email.
- Does Rentia receive my payments?
- No. Your tenant pays you the way they always have: transfer, cash or deposit. You log the payment in Rentia and the balance recalculates. Your money never passes through us.
- What if my tenant pays in cash?
- That is the normal case. You log the amount and the date, and if you want you issue the PDF receipt to send them.
- What happens if they only pay part of it?
- The balance sits at what is missing and keeps counting the days overdue. A payment and a charge are two different things in Rentia, so a partial payment does not have to fit into any box.
- Is my data only on the phone?
- No. Rentia keeps everything on the server and the phone is a view of it. If you lose the phone, you sign in from another one and your history is still there.
- Does my tenant see their balance?
- That is the idea and it is planned, not available yet. Your tenant will open a link and see what they owe and since when, without creating an account. Join the waitlist and we will tell you the day it ships.
- What does it cost?
- Free for up to 2 units, with no time limit. Rentia Pro is $2.99 a month or $19.99 a year, with unlimited units.
- Are Rentia's contracts legally valid?
- Rentia gives you editable templates as a starting point, not legal advice. We do not claim a contract produced here is valid where you live: have a lawyer review it before it is signed.
- Does Rentia screen tenants?
- No. There is no background check and no credit score, and it is not planned.
- Does it connect to my bank?
- No. Rentia never asks for banking credentials and never reads your transactions.
- What languages is it in?
- Spanish, English and Brazilian Portuguese. The Spanish is neutral Latin American: the app uses tú, not vos and not usted.
- Does it work in my country?
- Rentia works in US dollars and is built first for Central America, with the rest of Latin America on the way. If you collect in another currency, balances are grouped by currency and never mixed.
- How does it warn me about a contract ending?
- With a notification 60 and 30 days before the contract's end date. It arrives with the app closed.
- Do I have to load everything at once?
- No, and we would rather you didn't. Start with one unit and its contract: in two minutes you see a real balance. Load the rest whenever you want.
- Does Rentia message my tenant by itself?
- No. It prepares the message with the amount and the days overdue and opens WhatsApp with the text in place. You read it and decide whether to send. This one is planned, not available yet.
